YOUR AVERAGE DAY:

6:30 AM – Sauna & Cold Plunge

7:30 AM – Yoga & Meditation

9:00 AM – Breakfast

11:00 AM – Educational Workshop

1:00 PM – Light Lunch

Yin yoga, live music, ecstatic dance, salsa, a bonfire, and more!

Each day we will begin by gathering at the “Lookout”, and warming our bodies in the sauna before dropping into the cold plunge. Following this pleasant shock to our system we will head over to the main yoga shala for an hour long class, followed by meditation. The style of yoga will vary day to day and different meditation techniques will be introduced through the week.

Once finished with the morning activities, we’ll enjoy breakfast and have a little free time before gathering once again for the educational component of the day. Each workshop will cover various topics related to mental, emotional, and physical wellbeing, with lots of opportunities for discussion and reflection questions to allow the lessons to more deeply connect to your life’s path.

-Sample lunch: Light fresh green salad with vegetables, quinoa, bone broth, hummus, digestive tea

-Sample Dinner: Local Sailfish topped with lemon, garlic caper sauce, cauliflower rice, grilled vegetables, green salad

MENU OVERVIEW

The meal plan follows a paleo/auto-immune protocol. Generally this means cutting out grains/dairy/starches/legumes and focusing on nutrient dense vegetables, fruits, and lean meats. These protocols can make it a challenge for vegans/vegetarians to get adequate protein levels, thus there will be some offerings outside of the strict protocols for those that need it. All foods are sourced as locally as possible to minimize our impact on the environment.

We’ll be including one intermittent fasting window of 14-16 hours per week, in order to give the digestive system time to rest. Juices and teas will be provided through the day.

FASTING

One day of fasting per week will be incorporated. There is more and more scientific backing for the myriad of benefits fasting can provide. If you have experience fasting, we encourage water or dry fasting for the day. If you have no prior experience with fasting, fresh pressed juices and teas will be provided for a liquid fast.

On days of fasting, daily activities will be adjusted. We will skip the educational workshop in lieu of an experiential one; either with myofascial release or chakra balancing.

OTHER HEALING INCLUSIONS

Many of us have found great healing in alternative healing modalities. You will have a weekly massage and at least 3 other private healing sessions with our practitioners onsite at the time. These could vary based on your retreat dates, but our most frequent offerings are acupuncture & energy healing, somatic coaching, and a naturopath session.

F.A.Q.s

What wellness activities are available?

Our wellness retreat is designed to offer a variety of activities to nurture your mind, body, and spirit. Daily activities include yoga classes with different styles offered each day, meditation sessions, and mobility exercises or sauna/cold plunge sessions. We also offer educational workshops related to mental, emotional, and physical wellbeing, sunset walks, and special sweat lodge experiences. Additionally, participants have access to alternative healing modalities including weekly massages, group sound therapy sessions, and potentially services from other specialists like an acupuncturist or a Traditional Chinese Medicine specialist.

Is the food organic and locally sourced?

Yes, our meal plan is built around a paleo/auto-immune protocol, focusing on nutrient dense vegetables, fruits, and lean meats. All of our food is sourced as close to home as possible to minimize our impact on the environment and to ensure we maintain a relationship with our food sources. We prioritize organic, locally sourced ingredients to provide a culinary experience that not only fuels the body but also respects our planet.

Can I join if I have dietary restrictions?

Absolutely, we strive to accommodate all dietary requirements. Our meal plan primarily follows a paleo/auto-immune protocol which cuts out grains, dairy, starches, and legumes. However, we can make adaptations for those with specific dietary needs. It is essential to communicate these needs in advance, giving our team ample time to prepare and plan.

What level of fitness do I need to participate?

Our retreat is designed for all fitness levels. We offer a variety of activities and each individual can choose to participate at their own comfort and fitness level. As long as you are willing to try new things and have a positive attitude, you will benefit from our program.

What should I pack?

Pack light and casual. Comfortable clothing for yoga and fitness activities, a swimsuit, and a light jacket for cooler evenings are essential. Sunscreen, a hat, and sunglasses are also recommended. For this program, please bring a journal, something to write with, water bottle, any personal medications/supplements you take.

Most importantly, don’t forget your positive spirit and openness to new experiences.

Can I attend the retreat alone? Or can I bring friends or family members?

Yes, you are welcome to attend the retreat alone. It’s a great opportunity to meet like-minded individuals and form new friendships. Many attendees come alone and leave with a new community of friends.

Alternatively, you may share your room with anyone you choose, whether or not they participate in the wellness program.

What are the accommodation options?

There are no accommodation limitations. Any room or cabin can be added to your wellness retreat package. When booking online, first select your dates, and then any of the available rooms. If you would like assistance, please email info@costadulcebeach.com

Is the retreat suitable for beginners?

Yes, we have designed the program to be accessible at any level. Whether you’re staring a brand new health journey, or have been on one, these experiences will meet you where you’re at. There are also trained professionals on site to help you through the process.

Is transportation included in the experience?

Transportation is not included in the program price. However, we do offer arrival and departure transportation to and from Managua, Nicaragua (MGA) and Liberia, Costa Rica (LIR) airports.

Whenever scheduling transportation with Costa Dulce, you will be booked in transport with other arriving or departing guests with similar schedules so that everyone can share the costs therein.

What's the cancelation policy?

Cancel your reservation within 24 hours for a 100% refund.

Thereafter a 50% credit of payment will be issued and applicable for a future stay.

Are there specific health requirements or considerations for participation?

Our premesis is on a hillside, with many stairways and is non ADA compliant.

Other medical conditions need to be discussed with program leads to ensure adequate nutrition with our diet plan, as well as safety when participating in activities like cold plunge, sauna, and fasting.

Will there be free time for exploration and relaxation?

Yes, the afternoons are intentionally kept open with no programming so that you’ll have some time to yourself.

Can I extend my stay beyond the initial program duration?

Yes, we actually recommend extending your stay. It takes time to see the benefit of many of these holistic practices. Seven days can help reset and start new habits, but it takes much longer to see lasting results. The more time you give yourself here to integrate these practices, the better and more benefits you’ll see.

Is there internet access available?

Yes, we have high speed internet across the retreat center. We do recommend disconnecting as much as possible during your stay.

Are there additional costs, fees, or add ons?

Your package includes the mealplan, the entire program, and all of Costa Dulce’s weekly activities.

You can add on juices from the bar, additional spa treatments, and surf lessons or board rentals for extra fees.

What kind of support is available for participants during and after the retreat?

When participating in the guided or extended versions of the retreat, you will receive a guidebook with recommendations on how to prepare for the retreat to get the most out of your experience.

On site we have a certified Naturopath, a certified Somatic Coach, as well as several yoga teachers that have ample experience in holding space.

Post experience, you have our new found community to rely on, and all of our professionals are available for additional / remote sessions for continued support.

Are there any age restrictions for participation?

All participants under 16 years of age require parental or guardian consent in order to join the retreat.

How can I contact the Program Coordinator with additional questions or concerns?

Our program coordinator is available for discovery calls to answer any questions.

You can also email us at info@costadulcebeach.com

“I don’t think I can adequately express how special this community is in a paragraph. This was my second week-long trip to Costa Dulce, and I have done the yoga package, surf package, spa package, and now gut-reset program – and all have exceeded my expectations in quality, fun, and personal development. The staff is so warm and accommodating, the grounds are gorgeous, and the food is off the charts delicious and healthy. I am returning home with a permanent smile, new friends, and complete rejuvenation – and am already planning my return trip :-)” – Kathleen
